Where is Dong Valley?
Located in the Anjaw district of Arunachal Pradesh, the Dong village sits near the Indo-China border at an elevation of 4,070 feet. In 1999, it was first discovered that Dong experiences India’s first sunrays and since then it has grown in popularity due to this phenomenon. The confluence of the Lohit and Sati rivers creates a stunning spectacle – two pristine rivers merging with each other with a backdrop of the gorgeous mountains and meandering clouds!Dong is a small picturesque village inhabited by the Meyors just 7 km away from Walong, and is situated in the left bank of Lohit River. Snow capped mountains and beautiful pine forests make the place immensely inviting. This village is also one of the villages from where the earliest sunrise can be witnessed.
